We’re proud to offer digital dental impressions a faster, more comfortable, and more accurate way to capture the shape of your smile. Whether we’re restoring a damaged tooth or enhancing your smile cosmetically, digital impressions help streamline the process for both you and our team.
With our handheld 3D scanner, there’s no need to bite down on a tray of sticky, uncomfortable putty. Traditional impressions required holding a tray in your mouth for several minutes while the material hardened a challenge for anyone, especially patients with a strong gag reflex.
Digital impressions eliminate that discomfort and reduce the chance of error. No gagging, no mess, and far more precise results all in less time.
Digital impressions are captured using a small intraoral scanner that creates a high-resolution 3D model of your mouth — all without the mess of traditional molds. The scanner looks similar to our polishing tool, but slightly larger, and fits comfortably on a handheld wand. As we move the wand around your mouth, it emits a special scanning light that captures every angle with incredible accuracy.
Within seconds, the images appear on a screen — giving both you and your dentist a clear view of your teeth, gums, and bite. Patients love seeing what’s happening in their mouths in real time, and we love the added precision it gives us.
Digital impressions are used in a wide range of treatments, including:
Crowns, bridges, and partial dentures
Dental implants — for planning and surgical guides
Clear aligners like Invisalign® — to map out personalized treatment with digital precision
It’s a smarter, more comfortable way to plan and deliver exceptional dental care.
Digital impressions are not only as accurate as traditional methods evidence shows they may be even more precise. And because we can see the 3D model of your mouth instantly, we’ll know right away if a scan needs adjusting. No second appointments. No delays. We simply re-scan on the spot.
In contrast, traditional impressions involve messy materials, physical molds, and extra time. After taking the impression, it’s sent to a dental lab, where a technician creates a stone model of your mouth to guide restorative or orthodontic treatment. This back-and-forth process can take days sometimes even weeks.
With digital impressions, that entire workflow becomes faster, smoother, and far more efficient. That means fewer appointments, quicker results, and a better overall experience for you.
