If you want a straight smile without metal wires or brackets, Invisalign® could be the answer. These nearly invisible trays fit snugly over your teeth and are swapped out every two weeks to gently guide your teeth into place. Because the aligners are removable, you can eat, brush and floss just like you always have—no trapped food or extra cleaning tools needed—and you can smile confidently throughout your treatment.
Since there are no braces to trap food, you can eat, brush and floss normally throughout treatment. Invisalign® aligners blend in with your natural teeth, so you can smile confidently at work, school or social events. When it’s time to eat or clean your teeth, simply remove the trays and pop them back in when you’re done.
Invisalign® aligners are removable, but they must be worn at least twenty two hours a day. Taking them out too often can reverse your progress and add to both time and cost. If you think you might forget to put them back in, traditional braces—fixed in place—may be a better fit.
Your treatment uses a series of trays, each worn for about two weeks. Every new set is shaped to move specific teeth slightly, so your smile changes in small steps. You will visit every few weeks so your dentist can monitor progress and give you the next trays.
If a tooth needs extra guidance, the dentist may add a tiny resin bump called an attachment. It helps the aligner apply more force to that tooth. These attachments are placed and removed easily, with no need for numbing.
